Hemangioma

It is a benign vascular lesion and the most common tumor of infancy. The clinical aspect may vary widely from bright red patch to blue-purple plaque or nodule. Hemangiomas are characterized by a typical behavior, that is rapid growth during the first several months of life, followed by slow spontaneous involution during the subsequent years. This is much different compared to vascular malformations that are usually present at birth and do not resolve spontaneously.
